Looking For A Miracle

This is a modified excerpt taken from the book, “An MD Examines: Does God Still Do Miracles?” (Cook Communications, 2006).
Not long ago, I heard the story of a woman whose teenage daughter was severely disabled with cerebral palsy. For several agonizing years, the mother prayed that God would work a miracle and heal her daughter.
Nothing happened.
Then, a friend and two other Christians approached the mother. “God gave me a vision that your daughter will soon be miraculously healed,” one said. Another said she had a dream that the daughter walked upright.
The mother’s hopes lifted. But the days slipped into weeks…the weeks into months…and still, no miracle. (more…)

Darryl Burke adds some color (& humor) to his big brother’s life in this brief synopsis of the early years with Brad.
Brad Burke was born in Bancroft, Ontario, Canada, as the first child and son to David and Lucille Burke.
Brad, as a baby and toddler, was a bright and moldable youngin’ with a full head of teeth. As an avid reader of the Harlequin—oops, I meant Hardy Boys and Nancy Drew books, it is no wonder he started writing!
By the time Brad was ready to attend school (don’t forget he was bright!) he was bored with playing in the sand box and was really upset he didn’t yet have his own (more…)
